About PFA Scotland

PFA Scotland is the independent union for professional footballers in Scotland which represents protects and serves the interests of professional players at all levels in the game both collectively and individually in many different ways.

As a union PFA Scotland offers support, advice and representation to players in contractual disputes, disciplinary matters and grievances that they may have from time to time with their clubs or football's governing bodies.

The complicated football regulations and registration procedures handed down by FIFA and the Scottish governing bodies mean that a players' employment status is unlike any other. The expertise in the field of football regulations within the PFA Scotland team, supported by skilled employment law advice from our specialist lawyers, ensures that PFA Scotland has the structure and resources to provide the best service to our members.

PFA Scotland also looks after the collective rights of players ensuring that any changes to their employment conditions are protected.

Footballer's contracts have become increasingly complicated and have to recognise normal employment law practices. The contracts are now also shorter in length which has led to less security for the majority of players. PFA Scotland recognises the need to provide further benefits for its members with education and training being one of the key areas. We aspire to provide quality education, training and development for the benefit of all players, from apprentices to first team players alike.
